Charles "Chuck" Hill

Charles "Chuck" Hill, born on November 3, 1949, in Atlanta, Georgia, passed away on August 29, 2025, in Gulfport, Mississippi. A devoted husband, father, uncle, and friend, Chuck lived a full and vibrant life, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and camaraderie.

Chuck enjoyed a successful career in marketing within the hospitality industry, culminating in his retirement from the Beau Rivage Casino and Resort. His dedication to his profession was matched only by his passion for life, characterized by his love for reading, traveling, and immersing himself in history. He was particularly fond of all things related to Mississippi State football and college football in general. A true Jeopardy wiz, Chuck often delighted in showcasing his knowledge, and he loved celebrating Mardi Gras. Chuck was deeply involved in his community, becoming a valued member of the Les Cavaliers, St. Joseph Catholic Church, and the Gulfport Historical Society.

A proud graduate of Fernwood Jr. High School and Biloxi High School, class of 1969, where he was an enthusiastic member of the marching band, Chuck also completed his education at Mississippi Junior College, Jeff Davis Campus. These formative years shaped the kind, memorable, and simple man he became. Known for his loud laugh and distinct radio voice, he effortlessly made friends wherever he went, leaving an indelible impression on everyone he met. An ardent lover of animals, Chuck was a gentle spirit who never harmed anything. His warm-hearted nature and vibrant personality will be deeply missed by those who were fortunate enough to know him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Doris Eaves Hill, with whom he shared 52 wonderful years of marriage; his daughter, Samantha Buchanan, and son-in-law, Paul William. Additionally, he is mourned by several nephews, including Ricky Eaves (Kathy), Teddy Eaves (Pam), Dr. and Mrs. Douglas Stokes, Jerry Stokes, and Jeff Stokes (Kathy), as well as a cherished niece, Angel Freson (Jimmy), and many great nieces and nephews.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Evelyn Hill; his brother, Steve Hill; and his daughter, Allison Hill.

As we remember Chuck's legacy, let us honor the kindness he showed to all, carrying forward the warmth of his spirit in our hearts forever. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the charity or church of your choice.
