Charles “Chuck” Clyde Cunningham, age 68, of Gulfport, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport.
Chuck was a lifelong resident of Gulfport and a proud graduate of Gulfport East High School, Class of 1976. He continued his education at Mississippi State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force for four years before continuing his career in civil service.
He was preceded in death by his father, Laurance “Larry” Cunningham, and his mother, Dorothy Belle Lacy Cunningham.
Chuck is lovingly remembered by his sister, Linda Lee Cunningham Kurtzberg (Alan) of Westminster, Colorado. He also leaves behind his nephew, Alan Philip Kurtzberg, Jr., of Peyton, Colorado, along with his children; his niece, Rachel Lacy Kurtzberg Warren (Jeff) of Arvada, Colorado, and their children; and his nephew, Eric Daniel Kurtzberg (Kelsey Farrell) of Littleton, Colorado. He is further survived by his cousins, William “Bill” Paul Lacy (Linda) of Manassas, Virginia, and Michael “Mike” David Lacy (Carol) of Gulfport.
Chuck had a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. He was an amateur radio operator, a gun enthusiast, and had a special passion for model trains. He was also a member of the NRA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Services will be private.
