Charles L. Crawford

Charles “Charlie” Crawford, Sr., a beloved husband, father, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the age of 66 on May 2, 2025. A longtime resident of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, Charlie was known for his generous heart, love of storytelling, and deep devotion to his family.

Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Patrice Smith Crawford; his son, Charles "Chuck" Crawford; his daughter, Courtney Crawford Fallon (James); and his sister-in-law, Deborah Thibodeaux Crawford. He also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, James E. Crawford Sr. and Beverly Stortz Crawford; and his siblings, James E. Crawford, Jr., Bernadette Crawford Ellspermann, and Kenneth A. Crawford.

A man who never met a stranger, Charlie loved fishing, sharing stories, and making those around him feel welcome and heard. His warmth and humor will be remembered by all who had the joy of knowing him.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Alesia and Marc Fouasnon, Larry Smith, Jr., and Sue Fouasnon for their compassionate care and support during Charlie’s final days.

Charlie’s life was a testament to love, family, and kindness—and his memory will continue to live on in all who loved him.

A private memorial service will be held at a future date.
