Charles William Connell, Jr.

Charles William Connell, Jr., passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, in Gulfport, MS.

He is preceded in death by his father, Charles William Connell, Sr.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Lisa Connell; mother, Louise Umstattd of Saucier, MS; daughter, Holly Carlisle (Jason) of Pensacola, FL; sisters, Brenda Smith (Mark) of Gulfport, MS and Carol Palmisano of Slidell, LA; and many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Charles was a devoted husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was known for his sense of humor and his ability to make others laugh. Charles will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Charles graduated from Harrison Central High School in the Class of 1979. He retired in 2013 from the Keith Huber Corporation, where he worked in commercial truck manufacturing. He had a passion for antique trucks and cars and was a self-taught auto mechanic. His hobbies were boating, fishing, hunting, and gardening. Charles especially enjoyed spending time on the farm with his family.

A visitation will be held at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Rd, Long Beach on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 1:00PM to 2:00PM, the funeral service will be at 2:00PM. Burial will follow the service at Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens in Long Beach. A reception will follow in the reception hall of First Methodist Church, Long Beach.
