Verna Charleen Nester

Verna Charleen Nester, age 79, of Gulfport, MS, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Sauls.

Charleen is survived by her husband of 61 years, Charles D. Nester; her children, Chuck (Joy) Nester, Ann Greenburg, Bruce Nester and Lloa Willis; her grandchildren, Phoebe Willis, George Willis, Megan Nester, Erin Nester, and Kellie Nester; other relatives, Mike and Marion Nester, Nancy Webb and Lana Giacollon.

She is a native of Silver Spring, Maryland, and resident of Gulfport, MS. She attended high school at Montgomery Blair High School then attended MS Gulf Coast Community College from 1978-1979. She worked at Grand Casino from 2002-2005 and then became a homemaker/caregiver. Her hobbies were bowling, gardening, dancing, cooking and decorating.

Charleen will always be known as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Charleen was a beautiful soul full of life, who touched the hearts of many. Remembering her beautiful smile and quirky sayings will be a comfort to all of us for years to come.
