Our beloved Chandler "LaJuan" Mays received his ultimate freedom at 12:39 PM, Tuesday, February 13, 2018 in Marietta, GA surrounded by love and with his dearest, Brandy Walters Mays by his side.
Born February 19, 1970, to the George W. Mays and Hazel L. Houston, Chandler, to all that knew him, was a unique and caring individual who touched the lives of all who knew him. His servant heart complimented his beautiful spirit and inspired everyone he encountered to love deeply, serve others and live fully. He married his wife, Brandy Walters Mays in 2007. Three beautiful children were produced from this union.
Throughout his life, Chandler dedicated his heart and soul to music and inspired everyone with his talents. At an early age, he was blessed with a gift that followed him for the rest of his life. He was given his first keyboard at the age of 7 with which he taught himself how to play the keys by ear. His legacy will forever live on.
Chandler was preceded in death by his father George W. Mays and his grandparents: Lillie Jackson & Junior Jackson
Chandler is survived by his wife, Brandy Walters Mays, his 3 children: Deaireous Lajuan Mays, Tameia Shavon Mays, & Charity Alexandria Mays; parents: Step-Fateher Clyde Houston and Mother Hazel Houston; 6 brothers: Charles Edward Mays, Ellison Lanier Jackson Mays Aka Peanut, Alvin (Kenisha) Mays Aka Boosie, Brian Mays, Nick Mays & Mike Mays and step-sister Clydeisha Houston 5 nephews, 6 nieces, 4 great nieces, & 2 great nephews and a host of cousins and other relatives.
The family will receive friends today, Saturday, February 17, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNREAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport, MS. The home going service will start promptly at 2 PM in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Greg Magee and George Tate.
