Cathy Ann Oser

Cathy Ann Oser Godard, 77, of Gulfport, MS, passed away on July 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 20, 1947, in Alexandria, Louisiana. Cathy was a 1965 graduate of Picayune High School. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Education in 1969 and her Master's degree in Education in 1975, both from the University of Southern Mississippi. She spent thirty years educating the children of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, devoting the majority of her time to assisting those with special needs.

You could often find Cathy in her yard planting flowers and planning her next garden project. Cathy and her best childhood friends shared a special friendship for over seventy years, making time to travel together at least once a year. In addition to spending time with her children and grandchildren, Cathy especially enjoyed Mardi Gras festivities. Riding in the Pass Christian parade was something Cathy enjoyed for many years. She was proud to be part of the Bilikins and Les Cavaliers Mardi Gras Krewes and served as a maid on both courts as well as the court of Biloxi Revelers. She was a lifelong member of St. James Catholic Church in Gulfport.

Cathy had a joyful laugh, and anyone who was blessed to know her enjoyed spending time in her presence. She had a servant’s heart, was devoted to her family, and enjoyed hosting friends in her home for the holidays.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. and Mrs. William W. Oser, and her sister Debbie Lynn Oser. She is survived by her husband of eighteen years, Keith Godard; her children, Dr. Jason Rosetti and Jordyn Rosetti (Brad); and her grandchildren, Chandler Wheeler, Bennett Favret, and Cannon Favret. Her survivors also include her sister Sheryl Seaborn; her niece, Holly (Brent) Smith; her stepsons, Chris Godard (Casey), and Jason Godard (Krystal); and their children Braxton, Avery, Addison, Brennen, Liam, and Graham Godard.

Mass of Christian Burial is to be held at St. James Catholic Church in Gulfport at 11:00 am on Friday, July 11, 2025. Friends are invited to visit Cathy’s family from 9:30 am until 11:00 am in the church. In lieu of customary remembrances, donations may be made to Catholic Charities Food Bank and mailed to 333 Cowan Road, Gulfport, MS, 39507.
