Cathy Grimsley

Cathy Grimsley, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on April 22, 2025, in Gulfport, Mississippi. Born on March 10, 1953, in Bessemer, Alabama, she led a full and vibrant life that touched the hearts of many.

Cathy dedicated 28 years to her career at Coca-Cola before retiring, where her joyful spirit and laughter were as refreshing as the beverages she once helped to distribute. A proud graduate of Gulfport East and Phillips Business College, she was committed to lifelong learning and encouraged those around her to pursue their dreams.

Family was at the center of Cathy’s world. She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Russell Grimsley, and her cherished children: Kimberly Sinclair (Sean), Kristy Necaise (Lonnie), and Sarah Doller (Nate). Cathy took great joy in her role as grandmother to eight grandchildren, including Cole Bradley, Ainsley Necaise, Aiden Sinclair, Grace Doller, Raeleigh Triplett, Marissa White, and Brannon Sinclair, along with seven great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind several siblings: Mary Ann Jones, Nancy Harrison (David), Michael Carrill, Preston Carroll (Debbie), Dwayne East (Kathy), Dan East (Mona), Linda Estes-Sutton, and Janice Nelson Joy, as well as many nieces and nephews who will carry her memory in their hearts.

Cathy was known for her warmth and kindness, often spending her days feeding the neighborhood cats, holding her dogs close, and working lovingly in the church nursery at Bible Baptist Church. She had a deep affection for both babies and the elderly, and her laughter and love will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Verpo Carroll; mother, Betty Jo East; step-father, Guy East; step-mother, Nellie Ruth Carroll; brother, Teddy Carroll; and sister, Pam Carroll.

The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to April's Place and St. Joseph Hospice for their compassionate care during her final days. They encourage all who knew Cathy to share any and all memories, which will bring comfort and joy to her loved ones.

Over the years Cathy gave to many organizations and would honored for any contributions to your charity of choice.

Visitation services will be held at Riemann Family Funeral Home in Gulfport, Mississippi, on Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service from 2:00 PM. Cathy’s legacy will continue through the lives she touched, and her spirit will live on in the memories shared by family and friends alike.
