Cathy ""The Fish"" Ayala, entered the Kingdom of Heaven October 18, 2016, peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She was a resident of Lapeer, MI for 19 years and a lifelong resident of Long Beach, MS. Cathy was a graduate of Long Beach High School and a Nationally Licensed Massage Therapist.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Long Beach, MS on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 11 am. Visitation will be from 9-11 am in the St. Thomas Community Center and burial to follow at Long Beach City Cemetery.
Mrs. Ayala is survived by her loving husband, Richard Ayala, whom she shared her love of thrift stores, casinos, movies and traveling. She was a professional ""thrifter"" and loved to collect ""a few of her favorite things.' She blessed this world with many special creations and crafts that not only made her smile, but lit up the lives of everyone she met. Cathy is also survived by her son, Barry (Carmella) Touart of Tampa, FL; daughter, Julie (Johnny) Brian of Cleveland, TN; daughter, Sandy Carr; and grandchildren Matthew Cole Wayne, William Mark Wayne and Audrey Kay Shattles.
Cathy is preceded in death by her son, Thomas Martin Carr; her parents, Joseph S. and Catherine L. Giuffria; and her sister, Linda Jo Lindsey.
She never showed up to a party, event or lunch without a special, personalized gift. Her devotion to Christ, to her family, and to her husband were truly inspiring. Her positive outlook on life was contagious and anytime she walked in to a room she radiated love and compassion. She was an amazing mother to 4 beautiful children, a loving grand mother to 3 grandchildren and a wife that her husband spent half of his looking for. He says his only regret in life was ""not meeting her sooner.' Cathy loved Barq's root beer in a bottle, shrimp poboys, cooking Italian dishes, and singing along side her two daughters. Anyone who had the pleasure of crossing her path knows that she was one of a kind and God broke the ""ceramic"" mold when he made her. Her soul was as beautiful as her smile, which will be missed by many.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to St. Jude Children's hospital.
