Catherine Brown

Catherine S. Brown, age 82, passed away on May 11, 2021 in Gulfport, MS.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Joseph S. Brown, Jr; and a son, Joseph S. Brown.

Mrs. Brown is survived by her 2 daughters, Ruthann Barnett (Larry Stewart) and Jacqueline Marie Mitchell; 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

She was a native of Collins, MS and had been a longtime resident of Gulfport. She worked for the Biloxi VA Medical Center where she retired after many years of dedicated service. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and baking. She was a member of St. Paul AME Church and was attending Ramsay Memorial United Methodist Church.

The family would like to express gratitude and heartfelt thanks to all those who have supported us with many acts of love, kindness and prayers. A special thanks to St. Joseph Hospice, Ramsay Memorial UMC, and Fresenius Medical Care Center.

A Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at 11 am at the Ramsay Memorial United Methodist Church, 12472 Dedeaux Road, Gulfport.
