Carolyn D. Torgeson

Carolyn D. Torgeson, age 72 of Pineville (Cuevas), MS, passed away at home on Sunday, July 28, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born to the late James E. and Verna C. Dubuisson on September 1, 1940.
Carolyn attended Pass Christian High School for three years and was the valedictorian of the first graduating class of Harrison Central High School in 1958. She worked many years in the field of finance.
Carolyn's greatest joys were her children, cooking, decorating, and gardening. With over 1000 tree ornaments and French/Mississippi coastal cooking skills second to none, Christmas was her favorite holiday to prepare for and share with family and friends.
She loved ""digging in the dirt"" as often as possible. Her flower filled yard, decks, and the patio under the big oak is an inviting refuge for friends, family, and wildlife.
Besides her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her in-laws, Paul and Irma Torgeson; her sister, Emily Jo Favre; her sister-in-law, Patsy Dubuisson; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Paul Jr. and Sue Torgeson; and her nephew, Robert Favre.
She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Kenneth L. Torgeson; her children, Kenneth ""Kenny"" Torgeson of Pass Christian, Deion ""Dee Dee"" Wilson and her husband, Jim, of Norfolk, VA, Keith Torgeson and his wife Penny of Waveland, her brothers, James ""Clark"" Dubuisson and wife, Betty, and Herbert ""Herb"" Dubuisson and wife, Donna. She was the proud grandmother of two amazing granddaughters, Jennifer and Sarah Torgeson. She inspired and leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins as well as special friends and family members, Marian Torgeson and Tana Cameron.
The family wishes to thank all those who cared for her during the last 9 months, especially Dr. Stephanie Fussell and her staff (Ashley) at Memorial Hospital Cancer Center and Hospice Compassus.
Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, July 31st at Holy Family Parish church in Pass Christian, MS. Arrangements are being handled by RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach, MS.
