Carolyn C. Simpson, age 85, of Gulfport, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026. She was born on June 24, 1940, to Othmar and Aili Hamilton. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George R. Simpson; her parents; and her brothers, Garland Hamilton and Frank Hamilton.
Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was marked by kindness, creativity, and quiet strength. She was a faithful member of Temple Baptist Church in Gulfport, where she found both community and spiritual encouragement. She was also an active and enthusiastic member of The Red Hat Society, cherishing the friendships and joy it brought into her life.
She retired from the South Mississippi Regional Center, where she faithfully served as a clothier, a role that reflected both her dedication and her remarkable skill. Prior to that, she spent many years working in retail. Carolyn had a deep love for crafts and was especially gifted as a seamstress, creating beautiful pieces that will be treasured by her family for years to come.
Carolyn had a vibrant personality and a love for life’s simple pleasures. She was an avid fan of the New Orleans Saints and the Alabama Crimson Tide, rarely missing an opportunity to cheer on her teams.
She is survived by her loving sons, Daron (Renee) Simpson and Faron (Beth) Simpson; her cherished grandchildren, Jarad and Jena Simpson; her sisters, Delores Hamilton Nelson and Faye Hamilton Wolfe; and her brothers, Herbert Hamilton and Oral Hamilton. She also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
Carolyn will be remembered for her warmth, her creativity, and the love she so freely gave to those around her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and all who knew her.
