She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon W. Walters, Sr., her son, Kent Smith and a grandson, Connor Nathanial Walters.
She is survived by her children, Sheryl Corson of Corpus Christi, Texas, Brenda Anderson of Manchaca, Texas, and Vernon W. Walters Jr. of Gulfport, Mississippi, four grandchildren, one great grandchild and her brother, James Suggs of Corpus Christi, Texas.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery.
Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport, served the family.
