Carol Lee Parker

December 25, 1923 — December 24, 2012

Carol Lee Parker of Gulfport, MS passed away peacefully and gently in her home on December 24, 2012, with her family at her side.
Carol was born on December 25, 1923, in Angus, Wisconsin to Maurice and Emma U'Ren. She is survived by a brother, Blake U'Ren of Eau Claire, WI; and her children, Bradley Parker of Wellington, FL, Susan Parker Craig of Dallas TX, Gregg Parker of Jackson, MS, and Larry Parker of Gulfport. She was the loving Grandmother to ten grandchildren and great-grandmother of two. Carol was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, James E. Parker.
Carol was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp when she met and married Jim. They moved to Long Beach, MS and raised their family, during which time she worked for the Postal Service until her retirement.
Carol was active in the community, the Eastern Star and in the Methodist church where she never tired of doing for others. She instilled in her children a strong work ethic, was an amazing cook and was known for her giving and generous spirit.
Carol will be remembered for many things, but mostly for her love of life and family. In her final years, her strength and courage was an inspiration to her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 28, 2012, at 11:45 a.m. at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 274 Beauvoir Road in Biloxi, where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
