Carol Jean Newell

Carol Jean (McKay) Newell, born in Mobile, AL, moved to the MS Gulf Coast in 1971, resided in Pass Christian, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2025.

Ms. Carol worked at Wal-Mart for 30 years and retired in December 2019.

She is preceded in death by her only child, Mikkel Anthony Newell – September 30, 1971-June 13, 1998 (Born in Heidelberg, West Germany). Her mother and father, Doris Jean (Wiseman) and Charles Dayton McKay. Maternal grandparents, Bertha Oma (Wood) and Joseph Louis Alexander Wiseman. Paternal grandparents, Eva Irene (Carroll) and Furman Dayton McKay. Her brother, Steven Andrew Anderson.

Ms. Carol is survived by her companion of 16 years, Mr. Phil (daughter, Tiffany and grandson, JAC), her sisters Lois (Gina), Joyce (P.J. – Lea), and Sissy (Thomas, Joseph, Emily), her brothers Alvin and Johnnie (wife, Tammy and daughter, Samantha – kids, Jerry and Crystal). Her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Lauren (Mia, Marleigh, and Anthony), Meaghan (Everly and Evans), Lindsey (Kynslee and Olivia), Mikkel II (Carson, Paisley, Ryker, and Tanner), and Lanie (Amelia and Brynleigh).

The family will receive friends beginning at 5:00 PM on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 9113 Kiln-DeLisle Rd., Pass Christian, MS 39571. The funeral service will take place at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 3, 2026, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be at New DeLisle Cemetery.
