Carleen Denise Spain

October 5, 1958 — May 7, 2024

Ocean Springs

Carleen Denise Spain - Late of Ocean Springs, known to her loved ones as Denise touched the lives of many with her kindness and gentle spirit. She was called to her heavenly home on May 7, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and that will forever be remembered.

Denise was born on October 5, 1958, in the Philippines. She brought joy to her parents, Jack and Alvena Spain, with her presence and continued to be a source of pride and happiness for them. Known for her knack of numbers and dates, she became known as “the banker” in the family.

Throughout her life, Denise had a passion for working with children, especially in the church nursery. Her nurturing nature and warm smile created a comforting environment for the little ones under her care. She found great joy in watching her nephew Cooper and niece Kendall excel in their sport events, always cheering them on with unwavering support.

Aside from her dedication to children and family, Denise loved to travel and explore new places. She was always ready “to go somewhere, especially shopping and out to eat."

Denise's memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved her. She leaves behind her brother Mark (Cathy) Spain, her sister Caren (Darryl) Simmons; nieces Candace (Scott) Spain-Smith, Meredith (David) Brown and Kendall Simmons; nephew Cooper Simmons; great nieces and nephews Zoe, Violet and Deacon Spain-Smith, and Jacob and Grace Brown. A host of friends also survive.

Denise is preceded in death by her parents Jack and Alvena Spain.

Denise's departure has left a void in the hearts of those who knew her best. Yet, it is with gratitude that we remember the love she shared and the memories she gifted us during her time on earth. May she rest in eternal peace knowing she was deeply loved and will always hold a special place in our hearts. “Thank you, Lord, for choosing us to be her family.”
