Captain James E. Bodamer, age 79, passed away July 17, 2015, peacefully in his home surrounded by his wife, family, and friends. Jim was born in Memphis TN. He received his bachelors from Ole Miss and masters from MIT. Jim married his wife Kay on December 23, 1977. He retired after 26 years as Naval Officer and 15 years as Vice President of Development at TGI Friday's. He was an active member of the Community Church of Diamondhead. Jim was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. He had a great sense of humor and a sharp wit.
He was preceded in death by his parents Frank L. Bodamer and Sarah Ann Bodamer.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Bodamer; his sister, Becky Fears (Wesley); his sons, Ron Bodamer (Sandra), Ken Bodamer (Patti), and Jay Ussery (Stacie); his daughter, Kim Hurt (Andy); his grandchildren, Lauren, Corey, Brandt, Kyle, Amber, Bobby, Heather, Jasmine, Cecelia, and Erin and his great-grandchildren, Ana and Luke.
The family of Mr. Jim would like to give special thanks to Michelle and Crystal of Compassus Hospice for providing him with loving and respectful care.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be sent to Compassus Hospice in Jim's memory, 12261 Hwy 49, Ste. 5, Gulfport, MS 39503.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 25, 2015, at 11am at Diamondhead Community Church, 5301 Diamondhead Circle, Diamondhead, MS 39525. Family and friends may visit thirty minutes prior to the service.
Riemann Family Funeral Home, 9113 Kiln Delisle Road in Pass Christian, served the family.
