Cammy Keano Atwood
Keano Atwood, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family, after a short battle with cancer.
Keano was an avid fisherman. He loved being on the water and spending time fishing with friends and family. He was also a very talented musician. He frequently shared his love of music with all who would listen. He played numerous instruments such as the mandolin, guitar, piano, fiddle, and harmonica. During his lifetime, his love of music was shared in the churches that he was proud to attend. Keano was also a passionate photographer. He was always taking photographs of his family, friends and time spent outdoors. His love of history took him on many travel adventures throughout the United States and Europe. He loved working on home projects and always made himself available to help complete projects with those who would ask. Above all, he was a man of faith and loved the Lord.
He is survived by his loving wife, Norma Jean Atwood of 61 years; his children, Bryan and Janis Atwood and Cammie and Ken Walkington; his grandchildren, Kenneth and Lauryn Atwood, Emily and Kevin Smith, Wyatt, Elliott and Sarah Walkington; his great grandchildren, Fenway, Cooper, Cy, Caroline, Ace and baby Atwood, Adaline, Oliver and Maverick Smith; his sister, Wanda Atwood Hathorn and Cecil; his brother, Randy and Judy Hodges; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, who will all remember the quick wit and laughter he shared with them.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Atwood Wilson; his father, Cammy Wayne Atwood and his brothers, Gary Kenneth Atwood and Charles Reed Hodges.
Remembrance service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at Harvest Church, 21615 West Wortham Road, Saucier, MS, officiated by Bro. Bryan Atwood with visitation beginning at 9:30am. Burial and graveside service will follow at Atwood Cemetery, 160 Cooley Road, Seminary, MS at approximately 2:00pm.
Memorial contributions can be made to Harvest Church Building Fund or to the family.
