Byron Maguire, better known as Bill, passed away on November 29, 2016 at the age of 85. Bill was born in New Jersey in 1931 and lived there for most of his first 21 years. He enlisted in the USAF in May 1952 and retired June 1, 1972. He worked at Litton Ship Systems, then began his career with Civil Service at Keesler AFB in the Training Department. While there he earned his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees. He became engaged with Habitat for Humanity and served for 9 years; 8 years as Executive Director. He was on the Board of Directors with the Biloxi Housing Authority since 2010.
Bill was an accomplished author and had over a dozen books published on different craft skills and projects that could be accomplished for ones' home. He also published one of the early books on computer troubleshooting and maintenance, Bill being an expert during his time in the Air Force.
He leaves behind his beloved wife Betty of 64 years, his 4 children, Bill (Melanie), Cathy (Don), Diane (Tom), David (Jane), 11 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Sara, and many friends.
Bill was an avid golfer at Sunkist Country Club. He also enjoyed traveling, and going to plays in New Orleans and here along the coast. His love for wood working (a master cabinet builder) will be cherished by his legacies.
Friends are invited to visit from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL Home, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi on Thursday, December 1, 2016. The funeral service will be at 12:30 p.m., followed by graveside services at Biloxi National Cemetery, where he will receive military honors.
