Brunette Matheny Fortenberry, age 89, of Gulfport, passed away on February 15, 2013, in Gulfport
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benton Fortenberry, a son, Billy Jack Fortenberry, 3 brothers, Charlie Matheny, Beryl Matheny, Marvin Matheny, and a sister, Elsie D. Aultman.
Survivors include her 4 children, Tommy (Sherry) Fortenberry, Brenda (Titus) Dean, Dale (Ella) Fortenberry, and Keith (Karen) Fortenberry, 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 1 brother, Dalton Matheny, a sister, Bobbie Bounds, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Fortenberry was a resident of the coast most of her life and retired as a Department Manager from Gayfers after 26 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Orange Grove and she enjoyed quilting, bowling, working in her yard, and spending time with her family.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 17, 2013, from 6 - 8 pm at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. The funeral service will be at 11 am Monday in the funeral home chapel.
Burial will be in Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens.
