Brittney Fischer Hodges, of Ocean Springs, MS, was born on April 23, 1989. She ran into the arms of Jesus on November 14, 2025, leaving behind a legacy filled with endless laughter, love, and unforgettable memories.
Brittney is survived by her 2 precious children, Sadie and Grayson; her mother, Lisa (Jeremy) Gambler; her father, Dean Fischer; her siblings, Hailey (Wyatt) Peterson, Brianne (Mark) Gladney, Baleigh Holston, Dalton Golmes and Noah Gambler; grandparents, Peggy & Clyde Richardson and Deborah Smith; her nephews, Parker, Pace, Corbin, Colt, and Cannon; additional family, Terry Goff, Candice Anzelde, Terri Goff, and a large, loving circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, and cherished friends.
Brittney graduated from Poplarville High School in 2007 and later fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming a Registered Nurse. Brittney poured her heart into years of doing Hospice care, and later transitioned to being a dedicated ER nurse. Throughout her career, she received praise and recognition countless times from her patients and employers for the compassion, empathy, and strength she demonstrated. Brittney’s passion for caring for others, and love for her work family, left an impact far beyond hospital walls.
Above all, Brittney’s greatest accomplishment was being a mom to Sadie and Grayson. They were the center of her world, her greatest joy, and the proudest part of her story. Brittney taught them to love with their whole heart, embrace life with courage, and live it to the fullest, the way that she did.
You can’t describe Brittney without it bringing a smile to your face. She was a free spirit, full of life, and quick-witted comebacks. Her humor had a way of making any situation a little lighter at just the right time. Most will say that there was never a dull moment when she was around. Brittney loved hard and always had a wide variety of friends. She never met a stranger and could talk to absolutely anybody. You could hear her from a mile away, especially if the LSU Tigers were playing. She was a person you could confide in, and one that you knew would show up when you needed her most. Her heart was somehow even bigger than her bold, bright personality, that will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
The story of Brittney’s life will forever live on through her children, her loved ones, the lives she touched as a nurse, and all the many memories we will retell again and again. We cling to the promise that we will be reunited with her in Heaven one day. Until then, we’ll carry her light from here, making sure it continues to shine through Sadie and Grayson.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd., Biloxi, MS 39532, with visitation beginning at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow services.
