Brian Jay Capehart

Brian Jay Capehart, age 59 of Gulfport, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.

He is survived by his loving wife 28 years, Lydia Jene Capehart; his children, Kelsey Capehart, Hillary (Holden) Harper, Kyle Capehart and Kaytlin Capehart; his siblings, Kim (Stephan) Trochesset and Keith (Joni) Capehart; his parents, Gary and Karen Capehart; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A longtime resident of Gulfport, Mississippi, Brian proudly served his country, first enlisting in the United States Air Force and later retiring from the United States Coast Guard. During his service with the Coast Guard, Brian began a second career as a firefighter in Biloxi, from which he retired in 2022. He also worked alongside his brother, Keith, as a locksmith, a role he truly enjoyed.

Brian cherished time spent with his family and especially loved traveling with them. He found joy in reading, playing games, and creating lasting memories with his children.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, with visitation for friends to gather beginning at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow with military honors at Biloxi National Cemetery.
