Brentley Nicole Gupton

Brentley Nicole Gupton, 35, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 in Gautier, MS. She was born on May 12, 1990 to Constance “Conni” Campbell Stevens and William “Vann” Gupton in Montgomery, AL at Maxwell Air Force Base.

Although she traveled to many places, she called Poplarville, MS her home. She was a graduate of Camp Shelby Youth Challenge Program (Class 26) in 2007. She worked as a lab technician for Superior Optical in Gautier where she enjoyed assisting military veterans receive new glasses. Brentley loved to travel, explore the great outdoors, taking pictures, going to the beach, being an avid animal lover, and spending time with her family and friends. Her most proud accomplishments were her two children whom she cherished and loved with all of her heart.

Brentley is proceeded in death by her maternal grandparents, W.H. “Dub” and Alice “Bernice” Campbell; her paternal grandparents, Dr. Creighton and Doris Gupton; her maternal uncles William “Billy” Campbell and Gary Campbell; and stepfather Homer “Carl” Traxler.

Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Conni (Stan) Stevens, Vann (Kathleen) Gupton; her partner, Corey Huertas; her children Sylar Temple and Alora Huertas; her siblings, Alexis Gupton, Robert Merrell, Matthew Merrell, and Anya Merrell; her grandparents, John and Denise Stevens and Carol Haight; and a host of extended family and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held on October 11, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Poplarville, MS. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM with services starting at 3:00 PM. The family invites you to bring any pictures of Brentley that you may have to create memory books for her children. In lieu of flowers, a Venmo account has been set up on behalf of her children.
