Brenda C. Lowery, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, daughter and friend, passed away on July 26, 2025, in Biloxi, Mississippi. Born in Gulfport, MS, Brenda spent many cherished years growing up on the river in Eagle Point, a place that held a special place in her heart. She took great joy in the beauty of life on the river, where she met her devoted husband, Thomas R. Lowery, with whom she shared fifteen wonderful years.
Brenda's legacy lives on through her two children, Thomas W. Lowery (William) of Gulfport and Emily Swarek (Lowery) of Biloxi. She was a proud grandmother to four grandchildren: Michael Swarek, Braxton Lowery, Brendon "Bubba" Lowery, and Leela Lowery. Brenda had a unique and loving relationship with her family, always eager to spend quality time with them, and she was known as a loving yet no-nonsense grandmother who treasured every moment with her grandchildren.
Her vibrant spirit was matched only by her close bond with her mother, Norma Mosley, with whom she loved to dance and enjoy thrilling evenings at the casinos along the beach. Brenda’s laughter and warmth filled those moments with joy that will be remembered fondly by all who shared them.
Brenda also held friendship dear to her heart, especially with her best friend of over fifty years, Adela Saucier. The two would often meet to relax and reminisce, delighting in leisurely days spent floating in the pool while enjoying a cold one together.
For more than 15 years, Brenda dedicated herself to working with children as a daycare worker and substitute teacher, displaying her kind-hearted nature and love for nurturing young minds. She was also known for her culinary skills, particularly her famous chicken and dumplings and cornbread that brought her family together around the dinner table.
Her gentle soul and ability to spread joy made her truly one of a kind, and her love for classic rock music added a soundtrack to her happy moments. She will be deeply missed by her loving family: her siblings, Beverly "Bebe" (Mitch) Keys of Houston, Texas; and her cousins Lynn Hall, Jay Hall, Alan Madden, and Dawn Norton-Lyon.
Brenda is preceded in death by her father, William F. Mosley, Sr., her mother, Norma Mosley, her brother, William F. Mosley, Jr., and her grandparents, James and Florence "Dovie" Madden. Her legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories will continue to resonate within the hearts of everyone who knew and loved her.
Riemann Family Funeral Home, Gulfport, is serving the family.
