Brenda Ann Hynum

Brenda Ann Hynum, age 71, of Gulfport, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2025.

She is preceded in death by her daughters, Brenda Dale Odem (1976) and Miranda Ann Odem (1977); and her parents, John and Rebecca (West) Hynum.

Brenda is survived by her children, Todd Odem of Gulfport, MS and Daniel Odem of Porter, TX; sister, Peggy (Cowart); brother-in-law, Dean Cowart; her nephews, nieces, and cousins in Mississippi, Florida and Maryland.

She lived a life filled with passion and dedication, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her. Brenda dedicated a significant portion of her career to AMR (American Medical Response), where her commitment to helping others shone brightly in her professional endeavors.

A graduate of high school, Brenda embraced life with an adventurous spirit, enjoying hobbies such as riding horses from an early age, traveling to new destinations, and tending to her beloved plants and flowers. Her love for animals was evident, particularly in her cherished companionship with her two favorite dogs, Sophie and Belle.

Brenda's legacy will resonate in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her, and she will be remembered forever in our hearts.

A private family graveside service to honor her memory will be held at Finley Cemetery in Gulfport, Mississippi, on August 9, 2025, at 10:00 AM.
