Bradford James Jackson, age 89, of Webster, TX, formerly of Long Beach, passed away on September 5, 2014 in Webster, TX.
He was preceded in death by his father, Albert W. Jackson; his mother Gracie Ryan Jackson; his brothers, Houston Jackson, Herbert Jackson, Albert (Jack) Jackson, Edgar Jackson; and his sisters, Julie Jackson Hession and Gracieleen Jackson Map.
Bradford is survived by his wife of almost 63 years, Estelle Gifford Jackson; sons, David Bradford Jackson and Ronald Kevin Jackson; grandchildren, Melody Katrina Jackson Nowowiejeski, Stephanie Erin Jackson Greene, Hannah Susan Jackson Gronseth, Jennifer Michelle Jackson Norris, Jeremiah David Jackson, Elaine Hope Jackson Pierce, Noah Samuel Jackson, Daniel Josiah Jackson, Elijah Joseph Jackson, Nathan Anthony Jackson, Elisabeth Estelle Jackson, Alyssa Joy Jackson, Timothy Isaiah James Jackson, Ryan Ronald Jackson, Iris Deanna Jackson Williams, Bradford Keith Jackson, Kyle Seth Jackson and Alan Kevin Jackson; great grandchildren, Giosue, Isaac, Eliana, and Katya Nowowiejeski, Kiara and Abigail Jackson, Caleb, Jackson, Miriam and Natalie Greene, Susannah, Lydia, and Penelope Norris, Tobias, Aubrietta, and Trygg Williams, Moses and Arianna Jackson , and Seth Jackson; his sister in law, Gertrude Gifford Newland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bradford served in the Army Air Corps during World War II as a radio operator at an outpost in China, guiding allied planes over the Himalayas. He also served for nearly thirty years in civil service having worked at the VA Hospital in Biloxi and served as Technology Utilization Manager at Headquarters Technical Training Air Force at Gulfport, MS, Air Force Missile Development Center, Holloman Air Force Base, Alamogordo, NM, and for NASA at Johnson Space Center, Houston, TX.
A funeral service will be held at First United Methodist Church, Long Beach on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at 2:00pm with a visitation beginning at 1:00pm. Burial will follow in Long Beach City Cemetery.
