Bonnie L. "Mimi" Edwards, age 63, passed away on December 28, 2017 peacefully at her home in Gulfport, MS with family by her side.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lee Ervin and Mattie Lou Edwards; and a sister, Cheryl L. Griffin.
She is survived by her sister, Susan "Sue" Cruz; five nephews, Tim Goss, Brandon Griffin, Brett Griffin, Brad Griffin and Tyler Cruz; a great niece, Madison Goss; two great nephews, Brendan Hilton and Timothy "TJ" Hilton, all of Gulfport. She is also survived by a number of aunts, uncles and cousins, from the Gulf Coast to Memphis, TN.
She is a graduate of Greenwood High School in Greenwood, MS and a retiree of 34 years from Hancock Bank where she held many different job titles. During her time in retirement, she loved spending time with family and watching the two apples of her eye, Brendan and TJ, sprout into young boys. She enjoyed meeting Brendan on the front porch each day to see how his day was at school.
The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to everyone who provided care during her last few weeks especially the doctors and entire staff on the 5th floor at Memorial Hospital, Kare-in - Home Health, Kare-In-Home Hospice and Amber Davis. Without the special attention each of your provided, we would not have been able to get through this tough time.
Mimi is loved by so many and will be missed very much. Each time we hear a bird sing or see that bright star at night we will know you are with us. Fly high our sweet angel.
Visitation will be on Monday, January 1, 2018, from 6-8 pm at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. The funeral service will be at 10 am Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Beulah Church Cemetery.
