Bobbye Gibson

Bobbye Palmer Gibson, age 93, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 in Biloxi, MS. Mrs. Gibson was born on October 17, 1923 in Cooperville (Scott County), MS. She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Johnnie Ottice Palmer, her husband of 67 years, Perry F. Gibson, and an infant grandson.
Mrs. Gibson was a longtime resident of Waveland, MS, was an active member of First Baptist Church in Bay St. Louis, MS, and a member of the Gulf Coast Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She worked in the office of Hancock General Hospital and later at Bay-Waveland Clinic for many years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her family and friends loved her deeply and she will be forever missed by all who knew her.
She was steadfast and resolute in her Christian faith at all times amid any crisis or natural disasters.
Mrs. Gibson loved the Mississippi Gulf Coast, enjoying every moment of her long walks along the beach in years past. She loved entertaining friends and family with open houses during local Mardi Gras and St. Patrick's Day parades.
Her mental agility and acumen triumphed her aging process, as she read her Bible daily with absolute devotion and effortlessly solved crossword puzzles.
She is survived by a son, Stan Gibson, Sr. (Linda) of Biloxi, daughters, Angela Gibson of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Paige Balan (Ravi) of Burlington, NC, and Leisa Blackwell (Tommy) of Flippin, AR, and her brother, John A. Palmer (Janet) of Ocean Springs, MS.
Visitation will held at First Baptist Church of Bay St. Louis, 141 Main Street, Bay St. Louis, MS on Friday, December 30, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life to begin at 12:00 p.m. The graveside service will be held at Eastern Cemetery in Forest, MS on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 12:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be sent to First Baptist Church, 141 Main Street, Bay St. Louis, MS 39521.
