Bobbye Jean Hathorn Detwiler born October 14, 1942 in Columbia, MS to the late Robert A. Hathorn and Blanche Buckley Williamson. Bobbye graduated in 1962 from Biloxi high.
She is survived by son, John Kevin (Jessica) Detwiler of Washougal, WA, Sisters, Charlotte (Harold) Breal and Sheba (Steve) Brown of Biloxi, brother, Chip Williamson of Columbia, MS, much beloved nieces and nephews, cousins, and in-laws.
Bobbye traveled the world for 35 years with her husband John K. Detwiler while he served in the U.S. Air force. She retired from Austin, Texas School District and returned to her hometown Biloxi where she continued to work for Walmart (14 yrs). She loved God, family, friends, birds, flowers, shopping, crocheting and helping people.
Celebration of life will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Edgewater Christian Fellowship Church, 2750B Mission Ln, Biloxi, MS 39531. Visitation will precede the service beginning 11:00am, same day. RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi is handling the arrangements.
Bobbye's family would like to express love and appreciation to her pastor Troy Lanham and his wife Lisa, friends Bill & Barbara Bissell, cousins Janis Bourne & Becky Korpita, her Edgewater Christian Fellowship Church family & her Walmart family for traveling this journey with us.
Our appreciation also to Dr. Louis Varner and his nurse Kerry, Dr. Edwin Davidson, the doctors at M.D. Anderson, Dr. Fleming, Dr. Javle & Dr. Wood, ward 3B memorial hospital, Kare-in-Home nurses, Driftwood Nursing Center and Canon inpatient hospice.
