Bobby Kenneth Murphy, age 89, of Saucier, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his half-sister, two half-brothers, and his grandson, Christopher Lowery.

Kenneth is survived by his wife of 71 years, Shirley Gartman; his children, Gary (Sheila) Murphy, Sharon Lowery Turnipseed, Kevin (Sara) Murphy, and Tommy (Mary Ann) Murphy; his siblings, half-brothers, Walt Bolling, Bob Bolling and Steve (bonnie) Bolling; and his stepsister, Ethel Smith; his 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; his brother-in-law, Eric (Becky) Gartman; and many nieces and nephews.

He was a Navy Military Veteran having served in the Koren War; he worked for and retired from Mississippi Power Company after almost 38 years of service as a System Control and Protection Specialist. Kenneth was also Deacon and Success Baptist Church in the Success Community.

Many will fondly remember seeing him on his tractor, always donning a white t-shirt and straw hat…symbols of his hardworking and down to earth nature. Known for his generosity, he was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, His kindness and selflessness touched many lives, and his legacy of love and friendship will continue to inspire all who knew him.

He was known as Pawpaw to his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His love for each and everyone was shown in his smile as he assisted them in picking blueberries and satsumas or just being outside watching them.

A celebration of life will be held on June 29, 2024, from 2:00 ~ 4:00 in the Fellowship Hall at Success Baptist Church, 22329 Success Road, Saucier, MS, 39574. The family invited friends and community members to join them in celebrating his life and sharing memories. He will be missed, but his spirit and the seeds of hard work, love and devotion he planted will live on in his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for a donation to be made to Gideons International in his memory.
