Bobbie Jean Williams

Bobbie Jean Smith Williams, age 81, was called home on December 15, 2015. She passed peacefully surrounded by her family. Bobbie was born on Mother's Day, May 13, 1934 in Ellisville, Mississippi to James and Virginia (Davis) Smith.
Bobbie was a graduate of Jones County Agricultural High School in 1953. She received her first cosmetology license in 1955. Soon after she became a devoted mother and homemaker. Upon renewing her profession in 1970, she was employed by Gayfer's Beauty Salon before opening and operating her own salon, Trendsetter Beauty Salon located in Biloxi.
Among her many activities she enjoyed gardening, painting, pottery, needlework, and sewing. Bobbie had a beautiful singing voice and during the 1960's was a member of the Keesler Skylarks.
She was a devout Baptist, finding comfort in her faith, studying and reading the Bible. She was an active member of Popp's Ferry Baptist Church.
Family and friends were her love and joy and she was cherished by all who knew her. Her happiest times were spent with her loved ones and always spoiling the children.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents; sister and brother-in-law Willie Vee and Mike Karolyi; and brothers-in-law Billy Shoemake and Earl Bolivar.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 38 years, Donald D. Williams; daughter, Beverly Nelson, daughter and son-in-law, Zanna and Charles Brewer; granddaughter and husband, Sarah and Joseph Peters; great-grandchildren: Grace, Colton, and Stella Peters; sisters: Louise Shoemake, Betty Bolivar; brother James Smith, Jr.; and many adored nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 19, 2015 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Biloxi where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. She will be carried home for a 3:00 p.m. graveside service at Oak Bowery Cemetery in Ellisville.
