Bobbie Rea Thomas

Bobbie Rea Thomas, age 85, of Gulfport, went to meet her Lord and Savior on July 23, 2012.She was born in Summerland, MS, and moved to the Coast and married her husband, Jack Lee Thomas. They were married for 68 years until his passing in May of this year. Together they opened the well-known establishment called Bobbie's Bar and Restaurant, and then they opened the Handsboro Kwikstop. They made many lifelong friends throughout the years and worked many long, hard hours. Bobbie loved her animals (cats and dogs) and working in her junkshop. She was a very active member of Handsboro United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, and her grandson, Chad Dell Thomas.
She is survived by her son, Jack Dell Thomas, and daughter, Karen Juanita Press; grandchildren, Lois Thomas Shoemaker, Angela Thomas Ladner, Charlene Thomas O'Neil, Cliff Press, and Jessica Press Windham; 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Handsboro United Methodist Church, at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be held one hour prior.
Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
