Blake Edward McKenna

Blake Edward McKenna, age 17, passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2013.
Blake was born in Gulfport to Edward F. McKenna III, and Tammy Gail McKenna. He was an active part of the youth group at Gulf Coast Worship Center where he participated in mission trips. He was a junior at Long Beach High School and was a member of the football team. He made it a point to walk through the school at the beginning of every day and say, ""Hi,"" to everyone he saw. He will be remembered for his smile, his kind-loving heart, and his positive influence on others.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Velma Cuevas McKenna.
He is survived by his parents, Ed McKenna and Tammy McKenna, of Long Beach; his sister, Amanda McKenna Dicks (Michael) of Ft. Smith, AR; grandparents, Snowball McKenna and Nana D of Gulfport, Zonja and Walter Rodocker of TX, and Glenn and Pat Heise of FL; uncles, David McKenna (Annette) and Ronnie McKenna, and Dean Smith (Kendi); aunt, Mary McKenna Carter and Liane Gunnings (Jeff).
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2013, at Gulf Coast Worship Center, 28th Street, Long Beach, from 4-7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 4, 2013, in the church sanctuary at 11:30 a.m. Friends may visit after 10:00 a.m.
Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the youth program at Gulf Coast Worship Center, 18381 28th St., Long Beach, MS 39560.
