Birdie Mae Daniels, age 97, of Long Beach, passed away on December 4, 2023.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Norman Daniels; a daughter, Sharon (Thomas) Melvin; a son, Claude (Charlotte) Daniels; a daughter-in-law, Robin M. Daniels; a granddaughter, Karen B. Fountain; her parents, Atlas Ladner and Evelyn Dedeaux Ladner; a brother, Bill Ladner; and a sister, Carolyn Purchner.
Mrs. Daniels is survived by her children, Lewis “Clay” (Linda) Daniels, Larry T. Daniels, Doug N. Daniels, and Greg (Cindy) Daniels; her grandchildren, Bridgett A. Daniels, Stephanie E. Melvin, Jerry W. Daniels, Erica (Brent) Ladner, Julie (Steven) Moses, and Troy S. Daniels; her great-grandchildren, Samantha Butler Dangler, Jeremy W. Fuller, Isaac B. Ladner, Michael “Aiden” Mercer, Nicole R. Swinny, and Ava N. Moses; a great-great-grandchild, River E. Dangler; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She enjoyed caring for her family and her number 1 priority was her grandbabies. She enjoyed feeding anyone that came in her front door. Her faith in the Lord was everything to her and listening to Gospel music and studying and reading her bible.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 9, 2023, from 9 – 10 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 720 E Beach Blvd, Long Beach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am in the church. Interment will be in Long Beach City Cemetery.
