Beverly Walker

Mrs. Beverly Walker, 73, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2015 at her home in McHenry.
Mrs. Walker was a native of Long Beach, graduating from Long Beach High School. She was a founding and faithful member of Unity Baptist Church in McHenry. She was an inspiration to many through music at the church and with the following groups: the Gospel Sound, the Gospel Central Heirs, the Gospel Kinsmen and the Tuxachanie Singers. She enjoyed cooking and having family around the dinner table. Sunday was known as the gathering day.
Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her parents, William and Bessie Woodcock; her maternal grandparents, William Cooper and Cornelia Cooper Werner; and her paternal grandparents, William J. and Ida Ordell Woodcock.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, William James ""Olie"" Walker; four children, William James Walker, Jr. (Tanya), David Glenn Walker (Synthia), Timothy Lee Walker (Kelli) and Lisa Gayle Walker; two brothers, Jerry and Gary Woodcock; four grandchildren, Conner Walker, Karsen Walker, Hayley Walker and Taylor Robin; and other loving family members and friends.
Friends are invited to join the Walker family for visitation on Tuesday, December 1st from 12 to 2pm, at Unity Baptist Church in McHenry. The funeral service will follow at 2pm.
Interment will be held in Sumrall Cemetery.
