Beverly Bamburg McKee

Beverly Bamburg McKee, age 65 of Gautier, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Smith, Sr.; her parents, Robert and Alverne Bamburg; her siblings, Judith Brown, Gary Bamburg and Angelia Parham and her niece and nephew, Salina and Robert Brown, II.

Beverly is survived by her sister, Gay (Kenneth) Phillips; her daughter, Stephanie (Jack) Starkey; her step children, Wesley Smith, Jr., Robert Smith, Ricky (Terrica) Smith, Michelle Smith and Leslie (Jerry) Parker; her grandchildren; her great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Very close to her heart were her fur babies, Tootsie and Bentley.

Born and raised in West Monroe, Louisiana, she began her lifelong career in banking in Columbia, Louisiana. She later moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast, where she continued her career in banking for more than 30 years before retiring.

Throughout her career, she touched the lives of countless clients and coworkers, many of whom became like family to her. She had a special gift for making each person feel valued, welcomed, and special. She genuinely enjoyed helping others and took great pride in making a difference in the lives of those around her.

She had a love for travel and cherished the opportunity to experience new places and make lasting memories. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life. She loved Jesus, her Lord and Savior, and treasured the time she spent with her church family. She found joy in talking with others about her faith and encouraging them to draw closer to God.

She was deeply loved by her family, friends, church family, coworkers, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be remembered for her infectious smile, kind heart, genuine love for people, strong faith, and caring spirit. She will be dearly missed, but her memory and the love she shared with others will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Celebration of Beverly’s life will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd., West Jackson County, with visitation beginning at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
