Betty Lee Stuart

December 1, 1928 — July 28, 2016

Betty Lee Stuart was born on December 1, 1928 in Picayune, Mississippi, the daughter of Dallas and Gladys Whitfield.
She danced into heaven on July 28, 2016 at the age of 87.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Dallas and Gladys Whitfield; and a sister, Jeanette Scott.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 68 years, Grover Stuart; her children, Debra Sanford and her husband William, Vickie Denson and her husband Wayne; her grandchildren, Jennifer Parker and her husband Joshua, Jessica McCabe and her husband, Michael, Jason, Jordan, Justin, Steven, Kristin; and her great grandchildren, Joshua, Chloe, Madelyn, and Tobey; a sister, Helen Patch; and a brother, Dallas Whitfield, Jr.
Betty was a strong woman of faith who never doubted who her Creator is and how much He loves her. She was a charter member of Bayou View Baptist Church for 58 years where she taught the 4th thru 6th graders as their Sunday School Teacher and shared her beautiful voice in the church choir.
She had the gift of encouraging others through her ""card ministry"" by sending cards and phone calls to the sick and downcast. She was an avid reader and spent most of her days reading on her Kindle. She was a competitive little lady who loved to play dominoes with her Seniors at church. She would always beat her family in dominoes at our family game night. Girls Rule!
She had the gift of Southern hospitality. Her home was always opened to family and friends to enjoy her delicious roast and rice and gravy. Everyone loved to eat ""Miss Betty's"" scrumptious desserts, which she shared with the sick, shut-ins, and her beloved church family. You had to grab a piece quick, because they did not last for long!
She was a loyal fan of the Atlanta Braves and St. Louis Cardinals. She never missed a game! She loved to laugh and always had a cute joke to make her family smile. Her memory will continue to smile in the hearts of those who knew her.
