Betty W. Palomino, 83 and a longtime resident of Gulfport, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018 in Mobile, AL.
Mrs. Palomino graduated in 1952 from Luverne High School in Luverne, AL.
She married Raymond Palomino of the U.S. Air Force on September 4, 1954 in Montgomery, Alabama, and was a devoted military wife and mother who led her four children through transfers from base to base from Montgomery, AL to Germany, Guam, and throughout the U.S. She was a tireless supporter of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, traveling across the country to encourage them in everything from softball games to graduations.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Lenox and Trudy Estelle Wallace.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Raymond Palomino; her children: Ramona Rishel (James), David Palomino (Teresita), Richard Palomino (Pamelia), and Anita Champagne (André); her siblings: Lamar Wallace (Julia), Lanette Gerchy, Billy Wallace (Sue), Bobby Wallace (Faye), and Ronny Wallace (Norma Jean); eight grandchildren: Beth Farsaci (Jim), Grace Rishel, Cristina Robson (Nick), Angel Palomino (Liz), Raymond Palomino (Jen), Alex Palomino, Isabel Palomino, and Aimée Champagne; and twelve great-grandchildren: Ethan Farsaci, Joey Farsaci, Brianna Robson, Tyler Robson, Violet Robson, Arianna Palomino, Jaxson Palomino, Tessa Palomino, Katie Palomino, Jaston Palomino, Peanut Palomino and Gabriella Palomino.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2018 with a time of sharing at 3:00 p.m. at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi. A second visitation will be held Friday, March 9 from 1:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with the procession leaving at 2:00 p.m. going to Biloxi National Cemetery for a 2:30 p.m. graveside service.
