Betty James Lennep

Betty James Lennep was born in Gulfport (Handsboro), Mississippi, and passed away peacefully on December 31, 2015.
At 91 years of age, she was still an active bridge player and loved entertaining family and friends at her home in Gautier. Betty was the daughter of Annie Louise Leggett James and Lawrence Singleton James, and sister to Ruth James Lennep and James Lawrence James, who all preceded her in death. In 1948, she married Edwin Gould Lennep, Jr., who also preceded her in death.
Betty is survived by her brother Edward Hall James and her two children; Edwin Gould Lennep, III (Tres), wife Kathy of Ocean Springs and Elizabeth Lennep (Beth), husband Paul Cooper of Sydney, Australia, three grandchildren; Edwin Gould Lennep, IV (Chip), wife Chelsea of Gautier, Dr. Colleen Lennep of Ocean Springs and Julian Cooper of Sydney, Australia, along with two great grandchildren; Gabrielle and Amelia Lennep. Her nephew, Eric Lennep, wife Madalan and son Evan of Madison, Mississippi and many other nieces and nephews who loved to visit with Aunt Betty.
Visitation will be on Saturday, January 9th, beginning at 1:00 p.m. with the service following at 2:00 p.m. at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, corner of Lemoyne Boulevard and Washington Avenue in Ocean Springs. A gathering will be held in the RIEMANN FAMILY RECEPTION CENTER following the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to J. T. Leggett Memorial United Methodist Church in Biloxi (named for Dr. J.T. Leggett, her grandfather), 1410 Beach Blvd, Biloxi, MS 39530.
