Betty Summerall

Betty Jolene Summerall, age 76, passed away on June 11, 2020 in Perkinston, MS.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alonzo and Tralice Hatchel and 10 brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Berry Summerall; six children, Lloyd T. Summerall (Sherry), Tralice Mallery (Alex), Lorena Konz (James), William Summerall (Angelica), Holly Piña (Eugene), Jesse Summerall (Jessica); two siblings, Von Henderson, James Hatchel; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law and their husbands; and many nieces and nephews.

Betty was born in Marco Island, Florida, was a high school graduate and a nursing assistant graduate. She worked in many jobs that she loved in the nursing field. She was known as a “salad bar superstar” at Wendy’s in Marathon Florida and in her spare time enjoyed canning fruits and vegetables, and doing puzzles and card games. Her greatest achievement in life was being a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and confident. She touched many lives in a positive way. She was loved by all who knew her and will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a memorial contribution be made to Shriners International or St. Judes Children Research Hospital.
