Betty Cropper

Betty A. Cropper, age 85, passed away October 14, 2017, at St. Joseph Hospice in Gulfport.  She was a resident of Diamondhead, MS.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Nathaniel and Mary Agnes Cropper.  She is survived by her siblings Julia Arceneaux, Mary Clement, Buddy (Patti) Cropper and numerous nieces and nephews.
Betty was born in New Orleans, LA and raised in Long Beach, MS.  She graduated from Long Beach High School and received formal art training at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, enabling her to pursue her career as a graphic artist.  After working in Pittsburgh for a time, she moved to New Orleans and worked for many years as a commercial artist for Louisiana Power and Light.
Upon retirement, Betty returned to Long Beach and later moved to Diamondhead where she was to pursue her deep love for painting and sketching.  She was involved with Art Associations along the coast with allowed her to exhibit her work and be involved with the local community of talented artists whose work she admired so much.
Betty was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and St. Monica's Guild. She also attended St. Thomas Episcopal in Diamondhead.
The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the nurses and staff of St. Joseph Hospice who provided such loving and compassionate care.

The funeral service will be on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Rd., Long Beach, MS at 11:00am with a visitation for family and friends from 10:00 am until the service. Burial will be in Southern Memorial Park.
