Betty Jane Asher, age 81, of Long Beach, died Tuesday, June 18, 2013 in Bay St. Louis.
Mrs. Asher was a resident of Long Beach for 41 years. She was a devout Christian and was a member of Delisle Baptist Church. She was an avid Saints fan and loved to cook.
She was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Bailey; mother, Vada Bailey; brother, Joe Bailey; and sister, Patricia Hicks.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, John. R. Asher, Sr.; her 3 children, Tom Albritton, Linda Smith and John R. Asher, Jr. (Cindy); brother, Robin Bailey (Edna); sister, Peggy McCuan; 8 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 24, 2013 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road in Long Beach. The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery. Tributes may be offered at www.riemannfamily.com
