Bessie Mae Hughes Lopez, age 86 of Gulfport, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Myrtle Hughes; her husband, Allen J. Lopez; her son, Charles E. Phinney; her granddaughter, Miranda B. Lopez; her sister, Lucille Guidry; and her brothers, Floyd, Bobby, Ralph, and George Hughes.
She is survived by her children, Nancy Eckhardt (Alvin), Linda Mahan (Jimmie), Allen D. Lopez (Rebecca), and Steven J. Lopez; her daughter in law, Sheryl Phinney; her grandchildren, Charity Fialka (Chris), Jonathon Phinney, Bethany Benoit (Charles), and Christine Havard (Chris); her great grandchildren, Caleb and Gabriel Simmons, Paige Benoit, Ashtin Havard, Curtis, Amber, Angie, and Cristina Fialka; and her step great grandchild, Brandon Ford.
The family would like to express gratitude to her loving, devoted nurse, Veronica Vance and to Tender Loving Care Home Heath Care for the care and attention shown to Bessie during her time of need.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, December 31, 2018, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, with a visitation for family and friends from 10:00 AM until the service. Burial will follow at Gulf Pines Memorial Cemetery.
