Bessie Ladner

Bessie Bufkin Ladner, age 88, of Gulfport, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2017.
Mrs. Ladner was born to Holly William and Carlie Mae Archer Bufkin on January 10, 1929. She was a very active member of the American Legion Auxiliary where she was a former President of the Post and State Auxiliaries. She was a member of the Krewe of Gemini Carnival Association where she once reigned as Queen, and Bessie was an active member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hershel Olon Ladner, her parents, and her siblings.
She is survived by her children, Hershel Otho Ladner (Mary) of Long Beach, and Linda Ladner of Gulfport; grandchildren, Catherine Miles (Jonny) of Milford, NJ, and Phillip Ladner (Angie) of Madison, MS; great grandchildren, McCaslin Miles, Calaghan Miles, Sloan Miles, Lily Grace Ladner, and Judah Blue Ladner.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at Grace Memorial Baptist Church, Gulfport, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held one hour prior.
Burial will follow at Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens in Long Beach.
