Bernard "Mac" McMurphy, age 79, of Long Beach, passed away on November 2, 2017.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Colan and Doris McMurphy.
Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Joncie Smith McMurphy; 3 children, Kim Johnson (Mark), Karmen Fitzgerald, and Jody McMurphy (Arlene); 3 siblings, Don McMurphy (Phyllis), Jean Free, and Jane Hickman (Keith); 6 grandchildren, Maranda Broussard (Sean), Grace Woodward (Reed), Bridgette Johnson, Sawyer McMurphy, DeAnna Morris (Brad), and Austin Parrish (Taylor); 2 great-grandchildren, Paisley Broussard and Chloe Morris; 1 aunt, Nora Ryan; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Mr. McMurphy retired as a branch manager from Lance Corporation after 38 years of loyal service. He was a member of Community Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday School Teacher for more than 50 years. Mr. McMurphy enjoyed socializing, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family.
Visitation will be on Monday, November 6, 2017, from 9 - 11 am at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach. The funeral service will be at 11 am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Sunflower Cemetery, Perkinston.
