Bernard C. Ladner, “BC” as he was known by his family and friends, age 84 of Pass Christian passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his family on Monday, October 24, 2022.

BC was born on January 14, 1938, via a midwife to Nicholas and Justina Ladner.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Carol A. Ladner; his beloved daughter, Nicole R. Ladner; his son, Richard B. Ladner (Sandra); grandson, Joshua C. Ladner; his parents, Nicholas and Justina Ladner; his siblings, Bidwell Ladner (Edna), Gladys Ladner, Mytis Serafin (John), Marietta Guidy (Lawrence); and brother-in-law, Levell Ladner.

BC is survived by his children, Charles Ladner, Karen Ladner Bonney, Dena Burleson (Bill); his grandchildren, Ashley Bonney, William Bonney, Ayden Ladner; his great grandchildren, Cole Bonney, Chloe Bonney, Nevaeh Ladner, Alaya Ladner, Cole Ladner; and their mom, Diedre Ladner; siblings, Lee Ladner (Eunice), Joan Ladner; brother-in-law, Lester Curvin (Christine); and many nieces and nephews.

BC was a faithful member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and watching Ancient Aliens. BC loved to sit around a bonfire in the company of his family and friends with a cold Miller Lite.

He was enlisted and served 4 years in the US Navy as a ship broiler operator. Upon completion of his service in the Navy he continued to serve his country for 32 years in the Air Force Reserves, where he served as a Chief Master Sergeant in the civil engineering department until his retirement on January 14, 1998.

BC had also worked in the Engineering Dept. at the Gulfport Naval Construction Battalion Center until his retirement. He then worked for Johnson Control at Stennis Space Center in Hancock County on the refurbishing of the B-2 test stand until the completion. He retired and continued to be a jack of all trades around the house until his health declined. BC also repaired automobile alternators and starters for many years.

The family would like to thank St. Joseph Hospice, Care4All Caregivers, Kare In Home, Right At Home, and a special thank you to Denise Necaise, Brandon and Kaitlyn.

The visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, October 28, 2022, at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Pass Christian from 6:00pm – 9:00pm, the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 10:00am, with visitation beginning at 9:30am also at the church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery at Rotten Bayou.

Riemann Family Funeral Home, 9113 Kiln Delisle Rd., Pass Christian is serving the family.
