Bennett Lee Smith, age 60, of Biloxi, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2017.
Ben was born in Albany, Georgia to Donal and Betty Jo Cauley Smith. He served his country in the United States Army and the United States Navy. He worked as a carpenter for the Civil Service for 10 years before medically retiring. He enjoyed being on the water, boating, fishing, scuba diving. He also enjoyed hunting and in his younger years, he was an avid dirt biker.
He was preceded in death by his father, Don Smith.
He is survived by his mother, Betty Jo Smith; sisters, Cynthia (Michael) O'Neill of Biloxi, and Debbie Stokes of Knoxville, TN; nephews, Scott and Kevin Stokes; and nieces, Olivia and Leah O'Neill; and a host of friends and their families who called him Uncle Ben.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi, from 5-7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2017, in the funeral home chapel at 11:30 a.m., with burial to follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org , and memories may be shared at www.riemannfamily.com.
