Benjamin Joseph Starita

Benjamin Joseph “Benny” Starita, age 76, of Waveland, passed away on January 28, 2024, in Gulfport.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence “Skeet” Starita; and his mother, Alicia Dell Bennett Starita.

Mr. Starita is survived by his children, Vance Starita, Shannon Starita, and Shelly Starita Hill; his grandchildren, Devin, Emily, Kaden, Dara, Nicholas, and Peyton; his great-grandchildren, Caleb, Daylinn, Jade, Lakynn, Asher, Everleigh, and Easton; his siblings, Lawrence “Skippy” Starita, Dell Marie Starita Thompson (Gary), Mike Starita (Becky), Randy Starita (Gayle), Cathy Starita, and Keith Starita (Elsie); and other relatives and friends.

Mr. Starita was a lifelong resident of the coast and he served in the U.S. Army following his graduation from high school.  He worked as a welder and he loved to fish, cook, dance, and play cards with friends.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2024, from 12 - 3 pm at the 100 Men Hall, 303 Union Street, Bay St. Louis, MS.
