Barbara Sue Stokes

Barbara Sue Stokes, age 79, of Long Beach, passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2012, in Gulfport.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Susan Stokes, her parents, Coy and Vivian Simpson, and a brother, Coy Fulton Simpson, Jr.
Survivors include her husband, Gene E. Stokes, 4 children, Sherri (Rick) Kergosien, Greg (Mary) Stokes, Christe (James) McGuire, and Dawn (Don) Taylor, 10 grandchildren, Marc, Tyler, Kimberly, and Brett Kergosien, Kara (Matt) Smith, Jeremy Eyer, Matthew and Anna McGuire, and Jacob and Braden Taylor, 4 great-grandchildren, Kristyn and Cain Kergosien, and Drew Smith and baby Smith, 2 brothers, Ted (Linda) Simpson and Bill (Betty) Simpson, and other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Stokes was a member of Bible Baptist Church and she was steadfast in her faith which was evident in the life she lived. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 20, 2012 from 11 am - 12 noon at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach. The funeral service will be at 12 noon in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be private in the Biloxi National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or any other charity benefiting children.
