Dearest family and friends,
As you read through my story, know that I have peacefully joined my husband, Carlino, in the Lord's house.
I was born in Russell, Kentucky, on October 21, 1933. My parents were Guy and Mary Tolliver. I was fortunate to be raised by a loving, compassionate, educated, and supportive mother and father. Eight years later, my beautiful and caring sister was born. Bonnie was full of life and always made me feel that she was pleased to have me as an older sister.
After completing my elementary and high school education in Russell, Kentucky, I attended Morehead State University. It was there that I met my darling husband, Carlino (Pee Wee). We were married and made our home in Dumont, New Jersey, where we raised three wonderful boys, Jay, Lee, and Don. I was fortunate enough to be able to remain at home and care for my sons until they were out of high school.
Once the boys were in college, I found time to focus on my love for horses, watching thoroughbred racing, and taking riding lessons. And what would life have been without shopping? I was a true shop-a-holic.
All the boys graduated college, and each of them navigated their own path. Jay married sweet Robin, and they gave me a beautiful grandchild by the name of Ryan. He's the best, checking on me weekly, making sure I was okay. Lee married Donna, who was just as sweet as Robin. Don is still a bachelor.
This all happened while we were still living in New Jersey.
Upon Pee Wee's retirement, we left New Jersey life and headed for South Carolina where we built our new home and resided in Hilton Head Plantation. Pee Wee took up golf and became an extraordinary golfer at Dolphin Head Golf Club. I left the house for Hilton Head Humane Association. It was here that I became a volunteer and board member for 15 years. It was also here that Pee Wee and I adopted our two sweet little dogs, Lady and Savannah.
Upon losing Pee Wee, Don became my support system, and he lovingly cared for me until I decided to make a lifestyle change. While visiting Lee and Donna in Alabama, where they live, I made the decision to make my home with them.
It's been a good life, and I am happy to be at rest, alongside my husband, in the Columbarium at St. Francis Church, Hilton Head, South Carolina.
